Are you good enough? ... Are you good?

Why is it so common for people to think they are not good enough?

What is enough? Why is there a qualifier there?

Are you good? Are you a good person? Are you doing good? Are you doing okay? That's enough.

Are you good enough? Good enough for what? Good enough to do what? What do you need to be good enough for?

A layman’s perspective of the fabric and clothing industry over the years

fabric and clothing

Clothes used to be made better. I have a t-shirt that my mom got from J.C. Penney in the 90’s and it’s still in great shape and I still wear it today. I don’t know how long my clothes are going to last, but safe to say they’re likely not going to last that long. Even IKEA wasn’t chipboard in the 90’s, from what I hear.

Pandemics Last for Over Three Years

pandemics three years
Photo by Zach Vessels on Unsplash

I drafted this in June 2020. I also told people I spoke to about this. People were reluctant to believe me. Some thought I was nuts for saying this, some called me pessimistic. Eventually I decided against publishing this post. But now, in the second half of 2022, I finally feel like I can go ahead and post this. I very much doubt anyone's going to dismiss it now. I shouldn't have cared in the first place, but hey, you live and learn.

Anyway, here's why I thought this pandemic would last for at least three years.

Review: Skinfood Gold Kiwi Cream

Today I'm going to write about something I love talking about, and yet have not posted about in years - skincare! I adore skincare, be it the meditative act of applying it, the research that goes into studying a new product before shortlisting it, and the science-backed research I try to do before making a purchase decision. For the Skinfood Gold Kiwi Cream, I did no research at all. And yet it has become one of my most loved products.

A Simpler Time

Remember when statuses on Whatsapp used to be things people read, instead of pictures and videos?
When Orkut scraps were something fun to read, and Facebook conversations and pages were something new?
When text messages were lyk dis because we had a limited number of characters?
When group chats were in person on college stairs, and memories were actually experienced and not just a social media highlight reel?
When we used to have to keep our phones super close to each other because infrared was the only way to transfer stuff?
When we actually lived outside our screens and had fun doing random things that had nothing to do with the online world at all?
When the internet was a very small part of our lives and not something that had to be paid attention to every waking minute?
Can you believe it was less than 15 years ago?
Can you even fathom how our lives have irrevocably changed?

In Defense of a Slower Life

I read a lot of books and blogs and websites and articles and research papers. I love learning new things. I don't always apply/implement those things in my life. Isn't knowledge enough, sometimes? The world is getting faster every day. It's about doing and moving and hustling. I don't want to hustle. I want to live my life.

The Reason to Start Over New

and the reason is you...

Well, in this case, me. I just thought of the song and wanted to be cheesy.

I want to start over. I know better than anyone how many ups and downs this blog has had. Sputtering starts. False turns. An unplanned hiatus or two.

It isn't like I cannot write. I contribute regularly to other online platforms. I am a pretty devoted food blogger and love experimenting with different foods - yes, I'm vegetarian; come at me. I read so much and write book reviews for another blog. I write freelance as well.

I hereby commit, to myself and whoever chances upon this page, that I am going to try again. Yet again. Maybe this time it'll stick.

Why You Should Never Save Money

Yes, you read correctly. I don't think one should be saving money at all. But, you say, what else are we supposed to do? Haven't we grown up hearing that it is most sensible to squirrel away funds, a little every month, and save it up? That it is the only way you can get rich.

Yes, we've heard that. But it's wrong.

Nine Healthy Foods for Sugar Cravings

Who doesn't love sugar? It's a very common craving and a lot of us deal with it on a pretty regular basis.

However, as we are well aware, all that sugar isn't all that great for our bodies. It's okay to give in sometimes (we are human, after all) but if you're going overboard with your sugar intake, it's wise to look for healthy substitutes that will satiate your need for the white stuff without affecting your health too badly.

Here's a list of nine healthy foods that'll help you beat your sugar cravings!

4 Things that Ensure your Morning Productivity

I previously wrote a post about how you can slow down a little in the mornings and give yourself some love and self care. Till date it remains one of my most read articles.

So I decided to follow up with the next step. After you do takeout some time for yourself -- and don't let anyone tell you self-care isn't important because that's the most important thing there is.

Once you've taken care of yourself and your sanity, it's time to get down to business!

Passion Isn't Everything

It definitely isn't. Passion is just a part of it. I almost did believe that passion is everything, and in the process I almost let my passion handicap me.

It is about passion, yes. But it is more about consistency.
You may have that one thing you are passionate about. Music, books, movies, art, writing, painting, photography, dance, programming, creating websites, training animals - I don't know what you like most. But whatever the case may be, just passion doesn't cut it.

Write Often

I absolutely love writing. I've been doing it for a long time and I honestly cannot imagine a life without me reading and writing almost every single day.

I wouldn't even be able to start explaining how I felt when I just wasn't able to write for a while. Then I decided to take action. And things worked out way better than expected.

Create Good Habits

It is often easier to continue doing the same things you've been doing for a while. But is that really the best thing to do for yourself? Doing the same things everyday puts you in a sort of comfort zone, a sort of rut that it is just easy to stay in, because it is what you know. It is a habit, a series of habits, in fact.

I'll give you a task to do that'll make things so much clearer for you. The first step might take a few days, or a maximum of a week since it would be good for you to do it on weekends also.
You can thank me later.

My Top Six Uses of Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is something the west discovered fairly recently, but we in India have been swearing by it for ages, millennia actually.
Coconut oil is deep rooted in Indian traditions and for very good reason.
Indian heritage uses many natural herbs and oils that are very useful in order to heal the body and provide nourishment and good health. I use organic cold pressed coconut oil, and that is the kind I would recommend.
Coconut oil is one such magical oil that provides so much! Read on to know my top six uses:

Start Before You're Ready

I am guilty of this. Of waiting for things to be perfect. So many times that I have not published blog posts because I felt they weren't perfect. I needed it to be perfect before I hit that 'Publish' button. That drove me to my misery for a long time.

But then I realised that I was giving in to something that a lot of us fall prey to. And then I went back and thought about it.

Your Priority Should Be You

Prioritize yourself.

Often, we are too caught up in completing all the tasks on our list that we forget to make time for ourselves. But we must do things for ourselves before we try to do things for other people. There are two reasons why this is so important.
